Roberto Fanganiello
About
Dr. Fanganiello is a geneticist and stem cell biologist known for his work in regenerative medicine, bioengineering, and tissue engineering. He is a strong supporter of science outreach and advocates for initiatives that increase public understanding and engagement with science and technology, making education more accessible to students from diverse backgrounds. He has directed or collaborated in various aerospace projects, including Valentina, Kids2Mars, and Mars Analog Missions (InnovaSpace - Space without Borders - London, UK), the International Rocket Engineering Competition (ESRA, Midland Spaceport, Texas), Space-based Micro-G biomedical research (STAR Associates, INC - Danbury, CT), Operation Potiguar (Brazilian Space Agency and Brazilian Air Force), and the Student Spaceflight Experiment Program (National Center for Earth and Space Science Education, Ellicott City, MD). As Research Team Principal of the International Journey Spaceflight Experiments Program, he guides the design of space biology experiments crucial for future long-duration missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. In his leisure time, he enjoys connecting with people worldwide, listening to music, and writing/reading. Currently, he is learning about the early years of American space exploration and the new space economy.
